Orthodontic Treatment in Gosford

There are several bite problems that your child might encounter while growing up. If these bite problems are left untreated, your child might have severe bite problems in the future.

We want to share with you the orthodontic journey of our 12-year-old patient. He is a remarkable student who enjoys gymnastics but felt very self-conscious every time he smiled during his performances. His parents decided to seek help with a general dentist to prevent their son from losing his confidence in smiling. The general dentist referred them to Central Coast Orthodontics for orthodontic treatment.

During his initial examination, we found that his upper back teeth were behind his lower back teeth –– called a posterior crossbite. Also, his upper front teeth excessively overlapped his lower front teeth. Both bite problems required early and immediate treatment to prevent jaw joint problems.

After having a thorough examination and discussion about which treatment fit best, we decided to have him undergo orthodontic treatment with metal braces for 10 months to correct his bite problems.

What were the issues with his existing teeth

  • Overbite
  • Posterior Crossbite

What we did for his smile makeover

The Result

After ten months of orthodontic treatment, we were able to correct all of his bite problems and give him a smile he can confidently show during his gymnastics performances.

His parents were happy that we were able to fix his posterior crossbite and overbite. He can now enjoy and smile more during his performances in gymnastics without worrying how his teeth will look.
