Braces in East Gosford

Orthodontic Treatment in East Gosford

We want to share with you the Orthodontic journey of our 14-year-old patient from East Gosford.

She was referred to us by her dentist due to an impacted canine. Her parents decided to bring her to Central Coast Orthodontics because her sibling is also undergoing orthodontic treatment with us.

During her initial consultation, we identified that aside from an impacted canine, she also had a crossbite.

A crossbite refers to teeth that don’t fit each other when your mouth is closed. The main sign of having a crossbite is that the upper teeth fit behind your lower teeth when your mouth is closed or at rest.

Crossbites can cause jaw growth problems in growing kids and teens, so early intervention is a must.

After a thorough Orthodontic examination and discussion with her parents, we installed a Quad Helix, Upper and Lower Braces with elastics to correct her teeth alignment.

After 13 months of wearing braces, we corrected her bite and straightened her teeth. Also, we successfully moved her upper impacted canine to its ideal position.

She couldn’t stop smiling because of her straight teeth and felt more confident than ever!
