CCO Patient Orthodontic Treatment in Saratoga

We want to share with you the orthodontic journey of our patient from Saratoga. He is a 13-year old, adventurous boy who enjoys mountain biking during his break time.

Together with his parents, he went to Central Coast Orthodontics for an orthodontic consultation. His older sibling had orthodontic treatment with us, too, so he wanted to straighten out his teeth.

During his initial visit, we noticed that he had an overbite problem aside from crooked teeth. An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite, but it was a little over in his case.

If left untreated, an overbite could cause significant health complications. These include irreparable damage to teeth from abnormal positioning and possible jaw pain, including temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJD).

After a thorough orthodontic examination and discussion about his treatment options, we placed braces on his teeth.

The Result

After 18 months of having braces, we were able to correct his bite problem. His teeth alignment are now straighter than before. We were also able to fix his overbite to its ideal measurement.
