Braces in Terrigal

CCO Patient Orthodontic Treatment in Terrigal

We want to share with you the orthodontic journey of our patient from Terrigal.

He is a 13-year-old friendly student referred to us by his dentist due to crooked teeth.

After a thorough orthodontic examination, we noticed that he had anterior and posterior crossbite. A crossbite is a dental condition that affects the way your teeth are aligned. The main sign of having a crossbite is that your upper teeth fit behind your lower teeth when your mouth is closed or at rest. It is a sign that the upper jaw’s growth is a little behind compared to the lower jaw.

To make enough space, we needed to widen his upper jaw using a Palatal Expander to keep up with the lower jaw’s growth rate. Once his upper jaw was wide enough to accommodate all the other teeth, we started with his Braces treatment to correct the alignment.
