Orthodontic Treatment in Gosford

We want to share with you the orthodontic journey of our 12-year-old patient. She is a charming and lively girl studying in Gosford. Like every other girl of her age, she wanted to fix and straighten her crooked teeth to have confidence when she smiled. Her older siblings were previous patients of Dr. King, and so she wanted to have the same straight smile they had after having orthodontic treatment.

Her parents decided to seek help at Central Coast Orthodontics. During her initial examination, we noticed that one of her upper front teeth was positioned behind her lower front teeth. This is called anterior crossbite and requires early and immediate treatment to prevent teeth abrasion and jaw joint problems.

After having a thorough examination and discussion about her treatment options, we gave her metal braces for 12 months to correct her malocclusion.

After 12 months, she was able to have the straight smile she has always wanted – just like her siblings. She was so happy and felt more confident smiling with her aligned teeth.

Her upper front tooth that was previously behind her lower front tooth was shifted forward – which is its ideal position. Not only have we corrected her teeth’s appearance, but we also prevented any future bite problems she could develop if we didn’t correct it earlier.
